PENTAGON
  • Step 1 > Let AB be the given side. Bisect AB at M. Mark off MN equal to AB. Join AN and extend it past N.
  • Step 2 > Mark off NP equal to half AB.
  • Step 3 > AP is equal to the length of the diagonals. With centres A and B, draw arcs to intersect at D. With centre D and radius equal to AB, draw an arc QR. With the same radius and centres A and B, draw arcs to intersect arc QR at E and C respectively. Join AE,ED, DC and CB

HEXAGON
  • Step 1 > Let Ab be the given side. Set your compass equal to AB and maintain this radius throughout. With centres A and B, draw arcs to interest at O.
  • Step 2 > With centre O, draw a circle to pass through A and B. With centres A and B, strikes arcs at F and C respectively. Join BC, CD, DE, EF and FA
