Lettering
Simple, single-stroke Gothic characters are used on technical drawings. This style consists
of letters of uniform thickness and simple basic shape. This makes them quick and easy to print and easy to read with little
likelihood of misinterpretation.
Vertical letters have a better appearance in ruled lists and columns.
When used in dimensioning, vertical letters fit into confined spaces
with greater ease than sloping letters.

DIMENSIONING
While certain views of an object will show its shape, dimensions are necessary to show sizes.
- Projection Line > These
thin lines are projected from points, lines, and surface to enable dimensions to be placed beyond the outline of drawing.
- Dimension Lines > Each dimension line is terminated by
an arrowhead. The arrowhead must touch the projection line or other limiting lines, such as the arcs or circles.
- Leaders
> Leaders terminate with an arrowhead touching a line. They may end with a dot within the outlines of
a view when indicating a surface.
